T.A. Weaver
Howdy! I’m Tim Weaver. I'm an Instructional Associate Professor at Texas A&M University and Section Chair for Art & Design in the Visualization Degree Program. Prior to that I was at Blinn College on the Bryan, TX campus serving as faculty in digital art and graphic design. My greatest achievement there over 13 years was getting a degree program in graphic design up and running, establishing the digital arts and actually seeing students get 2 year degrees and then finding employment. Now at Texas A&M I find myself surrounded by creativity and interarts collaboration. Its a dream come true and I look forward to the next 13 years in my current role.
My art is rooted in image-making, in this case, blending digital and traditional media to create dynamic, layered compositions. Working analog, I embrace collage-like approaches, merging acrylic, digital prints, Photoshop, and mixed media techniques to build vibrant, fractured narratives. Working digital, my work is fast, spontaneous and very much performative, narrative and immersive. I love technology in my art practice. In that realm for me its about solving technical problems often through trial and error or just about trying something new.
